Leverage your experience into a customer service & sales career with UnitedHealth Group. As a Licensed Customer Service Representative, you'll answer incoming calls from members, prospective members, and providers (no cold calling) to resolve a variety of health care inquiries. You'll solicit basic information, answer questions and provide options while serving as a consultant to help the callers select the right plan for their situation and budget.  Don’t wait to join us! There’s never been a better time than now to start doing your life's best work.SMThis position is full-time (40 hours/week) with our site Hours of Operation from 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday and 9am-5:30pm Saturday. We require our employees to be flexible enough to work any 8 hour shift during our Hours of Operation. Overtime may be required during our Open Enrollment period (October - December). Primary Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls from members and assist them by addressing inquiries, which may include: benefit and eligibility information, billing and payment issues, customer material requests, physician assignments, authorization for treatment, and explanation of benefits (EOBs). Ask appropriate questions and listen actively to identify specific questions or issues while documenting required information in computer systems Using knowledge of Medicare products to accurately assess the distinct needs of different prospects, explain the differences between various products, and assist the prospect member in selecting a product that best meets their unique needs Respond to customer inquiries via phone to follow up on questions, or to review current or new products and services Conduct outreach to welcome new members as needed


Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED OR 10+ years’ work experience Must have an Accident & Health Insurance Sales License that is active and in good standing in your state of residence Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, determine need and consult with caller to provide appropriate product to fit their needs Flexibility to customize approach to meet all types of caller communication styles and personalities Preferred Qualifications 1+ year of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools Careers with Optum.
